Senior Inter School Team Nepal Literary and Junior Inter School Team Nepal Art Contest

On the occasion of International Youth Day, SAMUHA NEPAL (TEAM NEPAL), organized Senior Inter School Team Nepal Literary and Junior Inter School Team Nepal Art Contest at St. Xavier’s School, Jawalakhel, on youth issues. The event was categorized into English and Nepali with the topic Don’t be inspired; be an inspiration in English category and Yuva sanga ko hattemalo bata sundar bishow ko banaut in Nepali category. Similarly, in the Art Contest, the students were given two topics out of which on the spot by lucky draw, the students showed their art work on the topic Social Service. On 22nd September 2012, Saturday at the auditorium of St. Xavier’s School, Jawalakhel, the prize distribution day was organized where the winners were awarded with their accolades. The main sponsor of the event Sujal Café & Sofa Restauant, Tripureshwor as well as other sponsors were also felicitated in the event. The judges were also felicitated in the same event. In English Category, Rosy Shah from St. Mary’s High School, Mandira Panta from Graded English Medium School (GEMS), Rukmani Kharel from Gyanodaya Bal Batika Higher Secondary School, Shama Ansari from The Trinity Co-Ed and Pooja Lama from The Excelsior School bagged first, second, third, fourth and fifth prizes respectively. Similarly, in Nepali Category, Pratigya Joshi from The Excelsior School, Stella Mainali from Triyog Higher Secondary School, Elisha  Bhusal from St. Mary’s High School, Nirjala Acharya from Sudesha High School and Sushmita Sapkota from The Chandbagh School succeeded with first, second, third, fourth and fifth positions. In the Art Contest, Rubina Rai from Adarsha Yog Hari Higher Secondary School, Siddhartha Dhungel from REHDON Higher Secondary School, Binita Magar from Kirtipur English Boarding School, Laxmi Bohara from Ullens School and Bishow Raj Rai from Alpine Valley School won the first, second, third, fourth and fifth positions. Altogether 93 students from 47 different schools within the valley participated in the literary contest whereas 81 students from 45 different schools within the valley took part in the art contest. Tulsi Ghimire, a renowned writer/director/producer/actor was the Chief Guest of the event. The first, second and third winners of the literary contest were awarded trophies, certificates and gift hampers along with a cash prize of Rs. 5,000, Rs.2,000 and Rs. 1,000 respectively in each category. The fourth and fifth students got gift hampers along with certificates. Similarly, the first, second, third, fourth and fifth position holders in the art contest were awarded medals, certificates and gift hampers. All the participants as well as the participating schools got the certificates.
